The area of Zrmanja and Krupa was caught in the war in Croatia. As a consequence of war there are mines left over in some areas.
We will give you a description of locations for which we know, or assumme that they are mine infested. This does not mean other areas are safe, so movement along these areas we mentioned is on your own responsibility!!!
The area of river Zrmanja is mined on the part from the mouth into Novigrad sea and upstream to Obrovac. Therefore, it is dangerous to walk along the coast. There is a possibility that the area of Muškovci is mined, but the traffic along the road from Muškovci over the bridge on Berberov buk toward Bilišani is normal, and you have to pay attention to the area of RHE "Velebit", because it is a strategically important object. The area of Čardak is also mined, above Visoki buk on the south side of the river.
In the area of river Krupa, in the vicinity of the spring there was aan ammunition warehouse which exploded. Various equipment was thrown around the warehouse. After the explosion some of this equipment was found in the vicinity of Krupa's spring. Although visitors go to the spring regularly, and the local population brings their herds on the water, you have to be very careful when visiting this area.
The danger on the field is gerater because there are no signs.
